Bound Retail Lighting Design and Solution Concept Store

Lagardère AWPL has recently opened the Bound retail concept store located at Brisbane Airport – providing a bespoke travel essentials and café offering to travellers. The concept store focuses on supporting local Queensland suppliers and delivering high-quality local produce. Aglo was pleased to collaborate with Lagardère AWPL to complete the full retail lighting design and supply for the store.

As part of the client brief from Lagardère AWPL, our Lighting Designer considered the mixed retail and hospitality space, utilising light to segregate the two sections with appropriate aiming. The retail design of the space incorporates ceiling baffles which needed to be considered during the lighting design phase. For the retail section of the store, Mondolux Messina Midi Spotlights were used to effectively highlight display bays achieving 2000lx and stock display tables achieving 1250-1500lx. Mondolux Taranto Fixed Wall Washer Downlights were used at the back of the retail store section to efficiently wash the back of wall displays. For task lighting within the retail section of the store, textured, brass 5075 extrusion was hand crafted by Aglo as a stunning lighting feature, working in with the bound branding and brass joinery detailing of the café section. Mondolux Queens Adjustable Downlights were used in the café section for general lighting. Fittings were supplied with CRI90 and 3000K colour temperature. Within the lighting design phase, we also considered the vault which is featured toward the back in the middle of the store – making sure the contractor arranged suitable structures so the lighting could be supported.
