The Arena at Sydney Uni – Multi Sports Facility Lighting Upgrade

Aglo Systems recently completed a lighting upgrade for the multi-function sports hall at Arena Sports Centre, Sydney Uni. The brief was to decommission the 18 existing 4x18W fluoro tube canopy lights and 60 existing 36W Fluoro tubes and upgrade with energy-efficient LED sports lighting.

Aglo developed a new lighting plan and specified the 150W Triton LED canopy light which is close to the previous fitting in dimensions and appearance. Other key features of the Triton canopy light are its impact resistant housing and IP65 rating. The gallery-style seating area does not require as much illumination, so we replaced the existing fluoro battens with three 50W Triton canopies, which ensured that all light fittings in the hall looked the same. Stowe Australia carried out the installation.

With the new lighting plan, we were able to reduce the number of fittings significantly which achieved further energy and maintenance savings. The project savings summary is shown below:
