Hotel Lighting Package for Holiday Inn Express, Southbank

The brand-new Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank is situated in Melbourne’s premier culture and entertainment destination. Positioned in the arts hub of Melbourne, Southbank is home to the National Gallery of Victoria, Arts Centre Melbourne and the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art. Holiday Inn Express is a mixed-use development offering ground floor retail, 3 levels of above ground parking, 3 levels of offices, 345 hotel rooms and an internal, plant and art filled laneway that connects from City Road through to Fawkner Street. Aglo Systems’ Specialist Projects team were pleased to work with ASI Electrics to manage and supply a broad value-managed lighting package of premium products, ensuring the function, output and aesthetic of original design was not compromised.

Holiday Inn Express Southbank features a wide range of Mondolux and Aglo Projects products, sourced especially for all areas of this project – common areas, lobby, gym, conference rooms, hotel rooms/apartments and outdoor façade. Fittings include recessed architectural downlights, Neonflex (blue) LED, Neonflex LED, Impact 5075 Suspended Extrusion, Stealth 1715 Extrusion, Linea 4.8W Strip and wall mounted lights. The photos shown are of the hotel lobby, great room and meeting room – Festival Theatre. Aglo Projects architectural downlights were selected to provide general lighting in these areas and to work with the rooms’ design aesthetic. The Mondolux Impact 5075 was selected as part of the lighting package due to its slimline profile and was used as a feature within the space.

The Aglo Specialist Projects team also worked with ASI’s onsite team to supply made-to-measure pre-assembled LED kits based on exact site measurements, complete with pre-wired plug-and-play connections to cut down installation time and cost.

Downlight fittings were supplied with CRI80 and a colour temperature of 2700K, whereas the linear fittings were supplied with CRI90 and a colour temperature of 2700K.

The project spanned an 18-month duration from original samples to the project handover.
