Cronulla RSL is a modern beach club south of Sydney with a membership exceeding 30,000. The food, gaming and entertainment venue recently underwent a major revitalisation, as well as the addition of a new state-of-the-art function centre. Aglo Systems worked closely with the client, Hames Sharley architects and Evolve Projects to design a suitable venue hospitality lighting plan that specified various decorative and functional luminaires. Aglo managed the entire process from start to finish to ensure the design was implemented seamlessly.
As part of the light planning scope, our lighting designers used state-of-the-art modelling systems to ensure that the varied lux levels required and the desired ambience across different venue areas were met.
The brief was to propose a series of general lighting fittings, provide the exit and emergency lighting, and source alternative options of the specialised decorative feature lighting that was originally specified. In doing this, our fittings needed to balance the intended architectural aesthetic with several interior design styles, the practicalities of high-traffic and a family/child friendly environment, all within a fixed budget and tight project deadlines.
We sourced and supplied a variety of feature fittings: industrial extendable-arm wall-mounted lamps; coloured glass pendants; bamboo pendants; and extrusion. From our Mondolux range, we supplied Capella Smooth and Stirling 70 downlights, surface-mounted Catania Mini spotlights, Impact 5075 extrusion and Lumo T-Bar panels.
The six-month project required significant project management to ensure that the numerous stakeholders and sub-contractors were coordinated and communicated to efficiently from the specification and design phases through to the three stages of delivery.
