The Memo has opened its flagship boutique located in Armadale, Melbourne. Providing a stunning curation of baby and maternity essentials, The Memo’s new store is a place for parents where you can touch, try and talk through the most talked about baby brands. Aglo was thrilled to collaborate with The Memo and Cera Stribley to provide the retail lighting design and supply for the impressive flagship boutique.
The client brief for this project was to deliver the retail lighting across the key areas of the flagship boutique that represented a high-end atmosphere whilst being cost-effective. Aglo delivered a premium, cost-effective solution, incorporating Mondolux lighting. The Mondolux products included in this project were Esen Eco Downlights, Sirius Battens, Stealth 1616 Extrusion Profile, Venice Mini Adjustable Spotlights, Hartley Spotlights and Venice Mini Adjustable Spotlights. For the retail area, fittings were specified at CRI90, 3000K achieving 1500lx to the retail and perimeter displays and 500lx for general circulation. In the Storeroom fittings were specified at CRI80, 4000K for general lighting within the area. The Memo is positioned on one of Melbourne’s most coveted Streets in Armadale, high illuminance levels (2000lx) were achieved to compete with daylight and to make the shop ‘pop’ at dusk. Comfortable light levels were given across the point-of-sale area at 700lx and change rooms at 180lx. The difficulty in the lighting design for this project was designing a space with reduced ceiling bulk using semi-recessed downlights in group arrangements and ensured the look and feel matched with the vision of the space without drawing attention to the ceiling. A corner mount LED extrusion profile was used as a feature within the change rooms, continuing to work in with the refined and sophisticated interior aesthetic.
