The public park lighting project for the Richmond Terrace Park is a 600m2 development within a local community which incorporated lawn terraces, seating, garden beds, trees, feature lighting, bicycle racks and a drinking fountain.
As part of the over all concept by the parks designers, light cubes had been designed to generate a warm ambience and also provided a functional role as seating. Richmond Council approached Aglo Systems to manufacture the pieces.
Aglo Systems engineered the cubes for manufacture to meet the design aims of weather proofing, durability for outdoor conditions, ease of maintenance and installation while keeping a strong and harmonious visual link to the historic surroundings. Aglo Systems worked closely with Richmond Council’s lighting engineer to select suitable materials and construction techniques such as toughened glass, stainless steel, laser etching and electroplating. Aglo also supervised the installation to ensure the original design intent was maintained.
